Our story.

Hey there — we’re Em and Rod.

Originally from the UK and Sydney, we swapped city life for the countryside of Western Australia a few years ago. It was a big change, but one we were craving — a simpler, more connected way of living, and the chance to be closer to family.

These days, we’re lucky to call a 50-acre farm in Bindoon home, just an hour north of Perth in the Chittering Valley. From the moment our feet touched the soil, it felt right. Like this was where we were meant to be.

The shift from the pace of city life to the rhythm of the farm has come with its fair share of challenges, but it’s been a huge adventure too. It’s taught us to slow down, appreciate the small things, and lean into the unpredictability of each day (because farm life rarely goes exactly to plan).

We created Wagtails Watch because we fell in love with this region and wanted to share it with others. It’s incredibly beautiful and full of simple pleasures, with every season bringing something a little different. Yep, even in the heat of summer!

We believe that time spent outdoors, away from constant noise and distractions, is time well spent. Slowing down is good for the soul, and we hope Wagtails Watch offers a place to do just that. Even if only for a few days.

We can’t wait to welcome you.
