Whether you’re here for a weekend escape or a mid-week retreat, use these host recommendations to explore the region at your own pace.
Where to Eat & Drink in Bindoon.
The Local Larder
Your go-to for incredible regional produce and gourmet pantry staples. We love their homemade Zucchini Relish, delicious homemade sausage rolls and the range of local salts and rubs—perfect if you're planning a slow BBQ dinner on the tiny house deck. It’s a true celebration of Chittering Valley flavours.
Bindoon Bakehaus
A local icon and a must-visit during your stay. We highly recommend their chicken, brie and cranberry pie and smoked brisket pie, and for a sweet treat, you can't go past the Banoffee Eclair—famously enjoyed by Prince Harry! It’s the perfect place to stock up on fresh sourdough before heading back to the farm.
Moustachery BBQ Smoke Grill
For a serious flavour hit, the Moustachery is a must. Specialising in slow-cooked, authentic BBQ, their smoked meats are tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. It’s the perfect casual spot to grab a hearty meal after a day of exploring—we highly recommend the tasting platter!
Chittering Valley Wineries & Cellar Doors.
Stringybark Winery
Nestled among vines and native bushland, Stringybark offers a quintessentially 'Chittering' dining experience. We love their Sunday sessions with live music starting at 5 PM. It’s a wonderful spot for a long lunch or a cosy dinner by the fire, featuring medal-winning wines and a welcoming, rustic vibe
Siverina Estate Winery
A boutique, family-run winery that perfectly blends fine wine with a passion for wildflowers. Their cellar door offers a relaxed atmosphere with expansive views—ideal for a weekend tasting. Don't miss their small-batch Chenin Blanc or a bunch of fresh, farm-grown wildflowers to brighten your stay.
A hidden gem in the valley that feels like a private escape. We love wandering through their manicured gardens and vineyards before settling in for a tasting of their estate-grown Verdelho and delicious greek food. Their cafe is open during the winter months so keep a look out on their socials for opening details.
Christos Valley Estate
Local Produce & Farm Stalls.
Local Goat Artisan Cheese
If you're a cheese lover, this solar-powered artisan farm is a must-visit. They produce small-batch, ethical goat cheese that is second to none. We highly recommend picking up a wheel of their Camembert-style cheese—it’s the perfect companion to a glass of local wine on the Wagtails deck
Little Eeden Honey
Famous for their natural, unprocessed bush honey, this is a fantastic stop for a light lunch or a 'Hive' coffee. Be sure to try their signature Chilli Honey and spend some time meeting the friendly farm animals. It’s a great family-run spot that really showcases the sweetness of our local area.
Seasonal Roadside Stalls
One of the best ways to experience the Northern Valleys is by stopping at the many 'Honesty Box' stalls dotted along the Great Northern Highway and Chittering Road. These tiny stalls offer the freshest pick of the day—from tree-ripened citrus to farm-fresh eggs—at a fraction of supermarket prices. Be sure to carry a bit of spare cash for the honesty boxes!
Nature, Trails & Adventure.
Bindoon Mountain Bike Park
For those seeking a bit of adventure, this world-class park offers over 100 acres of trails for all skill levels. Even if you aren't riding, the elevated lookouts provide some of the best panoramic views of the valley. It’s also home to the fabulously named Chitty Chitty Run Run!
Djidi Djidi Ridge
Our favorite spot for a morning hike. This trail offers a stunning bird's-eye view of the Chittering Valley and is absolutely spectacular during wildflower season (August to October). Keep your camera ready for the vibrant blooms and the local Willie Wagtails that gives the ridge its Noongar name.
Wannamal Walk
A must for history buffs and slow-paced explorers. This easy 3.2km loop takes you through the heart of the old Wannamal townsite, passing 26 historical markers that tell the story of the area’s early pioneers. It’s particularly beautiful in spring when wildflowers carpet the old railway siding, and it’s a great spot to enjoy the quiet, 'ghost town' charm of our northern neighbour.
Where to shop in Bindoon.
The Little Country Store
A beautifully curated boutique in the heart of Bindoon. From hand-poured candles to artisan kitchenware, it’s the perfect place to find a unique memento of your trip or a gift for someone special. We rarely walk out of here empty-handed!
Northern Valleys Quality Meats
A traditional country butcher that prides itself on quality and local sourcing. We suggest picking up some of their premium steaks or handmade sausages for an easy, delicious BBQ back at the retreat.
